Because of the success of our web viewing, we have reduced our printed copies from 5500 to a minimum of 2000 newspapers per week, anyway our goal remains to soon be able to print 50,000 copies per week, so that they may be given to responsible eager representatives who are capable of distributing the newspaper in many cities throughout North America. General info: Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, IL MARCO POLO has been serving B.C.'s Italian Canadian community for the past 36 years since 1974. In 1996 the Editor Rino Vultaggio purchased L'ECO D'ITALIA an older existing newspaper which was founded in 1956 after directing it since 1994 and in 2000 fused these two prestigious newspapers under the name of IL MARCO POLO with the L'ECO D'ITALIA logo still visible. IL MARCO POLO has been a winner of the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada for best editorial and design for 2003 and 2008. In the past 34 years the paper has expanded to include an English section. Currently the paper is 80% Italian and 20% English. Articles include coverage of local social and cultural and sports events as well as Canadian politics, Italian culture, politics, history, world news, sports and many specials. |
